Aston Villa to Sign Star Chelsea Midfielder
Aston Villa have again been credited with an interest in Chelsea youngster Valentino Livramento.
Villa were first linked with a move for Livramento earlier this year with the 18 year-old out of contract with Chelsea next year.
Southampton have also been mentioned as a potential destination for Livramento while Championship promotion contenders AFC Bournemouth are the latest club to be tipped to move for the player.
The Daily Star report that ‘several’ established teams in Europe want to land the right-sided player who can operate as a wing-back.
Bournemouth are said to be keen to bring the youngster to Dean Court on loan.
Livramento, an England Under-19 international, has extensive experience in Chelsea’s youth ranks and made his first appearance in a matchday squad for his boyhood club when he was named on the substitute’s bench for a Premier League game against Manchester City in May.
He was also included in the matchday squad for a game against Arsenal a week later.
Football.London, BirminghamLive ‘s sister title in the capital, report that Livramento was one of the top players in Chelsea’s youth sides last week and can play on either wing or at right-back.
Villa’s interest in Livramento is an interesting situation because they currently have one of the best pools of young talent in the country with Liam Bramley and Sean Verity’s side winning the 2020-21 FA Youth Cup.
However, Villa head coach Dean Smith and sporting director Johan Lange are looking to recruit the best of British talent available and if there is an upside to a deal they will look to get it done.
Livramento, as good as he may be, will see his prospects of dislodging Reece James or incoming big-money signing Achraf Hakimi slim if he is to make the grade at Chelsea
