The latest news on Erling on Erling Haaland from around Stamford Bridge as Thomas Tuchel continue to assess the options in the summer transfer window ahead of his first pre-season as Chelsea head coach.
Here’s all the news on Halaand from around Stamford Bridge over the past 24 hours.
Haaland transfer condition
Chelsea can add Erling Haaland to their first-team squad this summer, but on one condition.
The good news is that according to The Transfer Window Podcast, the Borussia Dortmund striker ‘expects’ to join Thomas Tuchel’s side before the 2021/22 Premier League campaign begins.
Furthermore, hosts Ian McGarry and Duncan Castles understand that talks are advancing in the hope of a deal being completed.
However, the sticking point could be that his agent – Mino Raiola – wants a release clause within his Chelsea contract, something that the Blues are not willing to do.
Talks have reportedly been ongoing since June and Chelsea are now looking to strike an agreement with Dortmund.
So it would appear that in order for the Blues to sign Haaland this summer, they might have to soften their stance on including a release clause in any potential contract offer.
Havertz’s Instagram message
From two potential Chelsea players to a current star.
Kai Havertz, who scored the winner in last season’s Champions League final against Manchester City, was in the Germany side beaten 2-0 by England at Wembley Stadium with a Euro 2020 quarter-final spot up for grabs.
Despite being one of very few Germany players to emerge with any credit, the defeat – as one would expect – had its impact.
But as seen in the post above, Havertz has sent a message to supporters of his national team.
“This was a tough one to take. But football is about the ups, downs and learnings,” he wrote on Instagram. “Ones which we will take and put into future tournaments.
“Thank you to all the fans who have supported and we will come back stronger!”
