According to transfer news from Sky Germany and RMC Sport, Manchester United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Kinglsey Coman, as he wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer.
Coman came through the youth ranks at PSG but made his name with Juventus, whom he joined in 2014 on a free transfer. A year later he was snapped up by Bayern Munich, initially on a two-year loan deal before the transfer was made permanent in 2017.
While he did not make an explosive start to life in Bavaria, the Frenchman has gradually grown into a crucial player for the Rekordmeister. Till date, he has made 200 appearances for Bayern, scoring 41 goals and setting up 50 more. The 2020/21 campaign was perhaps his most productive one as he finished with 8 goals and 15 assists in 39 games.
Coman is contracted with Bayern Munich till 2023 but the German champions have decided to stall negotiations over a new contract due to his massive wage demands. This development has alerted Chelsea, who are now keeping close tabs on the situation, along with Manchester United.
And, it may be that Chelsea have received a boost in their potential pursuit of Coman as the 25-year-old French international has now decided to leave Bayern Munich.
Manchester United however are still very much in the race and may still remain Favourite to land the Frenchman.
